As an approved sponsor of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) we're able to help emergency shelters serve healthy meals to children and young people experiencing homelessness.
Emergency shelters that participate in our sponsorship will receive up to three meals (Breakfast, Lunch and Supper) to children experiencing homelessness.
To be eligible, the shelter must be a public or private nonprofit institution or a temporary residential site householded by a public or private nonprofit agency.
We serve children, including teenagers 18 and younger, who are emergency shelter residents. Persons with disabilities, regardless of their age, may also receive meals at the shelters where they reside.
Residents who receive their meals at the shelter are automatically eligible for free meals. There are no application forms for parents or guardians to fill out.
All meals are served in group settings, at no cost to the child or to the child’s parents or guardians.
Let’s get our youth ready to thrive this school year!
We’re not done yet! 💪 Impact LA is still standing with our community after the Eaton fires, and this Friday we’re making sure kids start the school year ready to succeed.
